It is so easy to be consumed with the daily schedule. Being pulled from one direction to the next. With deadlines, kids soccer games and the daily grind. We can all become distracted and distant from the Lord. Remember the parable of the virgins? Five kept their lamps filled, and the other five let them grow dim and had not refreshed the oil. Have you let your lamp grow dim?
Jesus said in Revelation 3:15-16, “I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth.” Those are really tough words. But I truly believe that it is not to condemn us, but to draw us near to Him. When we become “lukewarm”, we miss His best for us. We miss HIS abundance, His grace, and His power.
I truly believe that the enemy is working over time right now, leading God’s people into a dullness. A state of denial and a state of religion. Being hot for Him, is not going to church. Yes, scripture tells us not to forsake the assembling together, but your relationship with Him is so much more than a one hour service once or twice a week. He is looking for your heart. A heart that says YES. It is your continued daily choices that either bring you closer to Him, or lead you further away.
John Maxwell says, “success is in your daily routine”. Well, staying on fire for Christ happens from your daily choices. Are you saying YES, to the leading of the Spirit? Or are you ignoring His nudges, ignoring His Word? When we begin to make our choices according to the Word of God, things begin to shift. Miracles happen and life becomes abundant.
I have heard many times, I am afraid to say YES to God. What if He has me give up something I love? Or, what if He makes me do something I don’t want to do? It takes faith to say YES. But I have found that whenever someone says YES, that He doesn’t take anything away without giving something far greater.
He promises that if we delight ourselves in Him, He WILL give us the desires of our heart. (Psalm 37:4). God will do far and above all you can ask or think.
If you have felt like you have let the cares of this world get in the way of you saying YES to Him, today is your day! Today, make the choice to say YES! YES, to life abundantly! YES, to freedom! YES, to the favor of God.
Remember, He is always for you, and never against you.
Move by faith today, and trust Him. Trust Him, by saying YES.
I’m cheering you on, and believing God to do great things in you and through you!
