Vision For A New Year

Part 2

Last week we talked about creating a plan and a vision for our lives.  We know God’s word tells us in Proverbs 29:18 that without a vision, the people perish.  Everyone wants to have a successful life and to see all their desires fulfilled.  On our own we can have many triumphs and be successful.  But when we seek God, and follow His plan, the blessings that follow are tremendous.  The Word says in Matthew 6:33 “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you”   All of your desires matter to God and He wants you to allow Him to pave the way for your life. He desires you to seek Him in all things.  You might be wondering if I make the decision to turn it over to Him and trust His plan, how do I begin to allow God to lead me and show me the way to succeed?

It begins with seeking Him.  You must first seek God in order to know what His perfect will is.  Spending time alone with God is everything.  When you are alone with the Father and are communicating with Him, He is able to give you His wisdom.  Through His word as well as the Holy Spirit, who can speak directly to you.  We can not just rely on our own wisdom and knowledge and expect things out of our own reach; as our thoughts are limited.  The Lord God has limitless wisdom.  He knows all things and has already made a way for you.  In the story of King Solomon, he asked God for wisdom.  God said to Solomon, “Since this is your heart’s desire and you have not asked for wealth, possessions or honor, nor for the death of your enemies, and since you have not asked for a long life but for wisdom and knowledge to govern my people over whom I have made you king, therefore wisdom and knowledge will be given to you. And I will also give you wealth, possessions and honor, such as no king who was before you ever had and none after you will have.”   When we seek God and His wisdom for our lives, everything else falls into place.  He will begin to show us what His will and plans are and open the doors for us.

As we begin to see a plan we must write it down.  And the Lord answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.”  Habakkuk 2:2    God will give you a vision.  He will put desires and dreams in your heart and mind.  He will also give you a plan.  Write that plan down.  Many of us use vision boards to help us see our goals.  Vision boards are a great way to put our plan on paper.  We can also just write it down in a notebook or on a plain sheet of paper.  The most important thing is to get the vision written down.  Begin to plan out how you are going to make those desires and goals come to be.  Even if they are future goals, think about what you can do NOW to make those dreams a reality.  After you get them all written down, hang it up in plain sight.  Any place where you can easily see it.  As you look at it daily, begin to think about what you can do to get your vision working.  What has to be done for your plan to be successful?   What is the next step?

After you have sought God, and written down the plan, take it and run with it.  With your whole heart, commit to making your dreams a reality.  You must take action with your entire being.  You can’t expect results if you aren’t willing to give your whole heart. In Colossians 3:23-24 we are told “And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.”    Your plan deserves all of your attention.  Heartily means with sincerity, wholly and thoroughly.  Your plan requires action.  You can not be passive with your visions and desires if you want success.  Listen to God and obey Him with all your heart.   Are you willing to do whatever it takes to see your vision take place?  Before you begin,  count the cost and know you will be one hundred percent committed. “ For which of you, desiring to build a tower, does not first sit down and count the cost, whether he has enough to complete it?” Luke 14:28

No matter the cost, when you take the time to seek God and listen to His voice, He will show you the path that He has already prepared for you.  It is up to you to follow the plan and take action with all of your heart.  Praying with you and believing in you.  You’ve got this!  God is able to do exceedingly above and beyond all that you can ask or think.  (Ephesians 3:20)
