If you are anything like me, you want to be on a winning team.  Whether it is your business, your favorite sports team, your church, or your family, you want to be coming in with a top score.  But what does it take to have a winning team?  I am sure you have heard the term, “team work makes the dream work.”  But in order for you to make the dream work, you must have the right players.

There are several different requirements that your team players must possess, but today I want to look at one key ingredient“Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!  IT IS like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron’s beard; that went down to the skirts of his garments; As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for THERE the Lord commanded the blessing, even life forevermore.”  ~ Psalm 133:1-3

When you find people that are in unity, (agreement, and desiring the same outcome), then God commands the blessing.  The word commanded in the scripture is “Tsawah’, and the root meaning is to constitute, make firm, establish; to appoint anyone over anything; to command, charge; to ordain, commission; to delegate something; to set in order.  God will command the blessing when you are in unity with those you are working with.  Everyone must have the same mind, and same spirit to receive the blessing.  In the book of Acts, chapter two, they were all together and in one accord, (in unity), then God sent the Holy Spirit and Power.

So how do we obtain unity?  First and foremost, you must be willing to work things out.  Not everyone is going to agree with all the plays, but everyone has to choose unity over disagreement. This means not holding bitterness, unforgiveness, grudges, or judging and condemning others.  But working together.  Asking questions about why they feel the way they do.  Expressing understanding, giving hope and also solutions rather than division.  When you choose to agree and come together in unity, you will see the blessing of God!
