“And the LORD said to Moses, “Why do you cry to Me? Tell the children of Israel to

go forward.  But lift up your rod, and stretch out your hand over the sea and

divide it. And the children of Israel shall go on dry ground

through the midst of the sea.” ~Exodus 14:15-16

God doesn’t want you crying. He wants you moving forward!  Everyone encounters trouble! Both Christians and non Christians face hardships and sufferings.  It is a fact of life that Jesus himself spoke of.  “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace.  In the world you shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” ~ John 16:33   The important thing is how we deal with the troubles that come.  Jesus said to be of good cheer.  Have you ever been around someone who was of “good cheer” that was crying and complaining? I haven’t.

When the children of Israel saw Pharaoh’s army pursuing them, they grew fearful and began to murmur and complain.  They lost their focus and allowed doubt to come over them.  Just because problems arise does not mean that it is over.  It means God is about to do a miracle.  (Read Exodus 14:1-31)

And the Lord spoke unto Moses … “And I will harden Pharaoh’s heart, that he shall follow

after them; and I will be honored upon Pharaoh, and upon all his host; that the Egyptians

may know that I am the Lord.” ~Exodus 14:4

God wanted Pharaoh and all the Egyptians to know that HE was the Lord.  He hardened Pharaoh’s heart so that he would pursue the children of Israel.  But when they began to be pursued , the children of Israel  came against Moses.  They did not continue to trust the Lord.  After they crossed the sea, God spoke to Moses to lift up his rod again, and He closed back the sea, swallowing up all the Egyptians.  Pharaoh’s army would never have been destroyed if they had not pursued the Israelites.

What armies are you facing?  Are you sitting around complaining about how hard your circumstances are?  Maybe you are murmuring about what you need and focusing on what you don’t have.  It’s time to stop crying and pick up your rod!  Use the tools the Lord has given you and move forward.  Remember the fight is always meant to try and stop you from pressing in.  The obstacles are only smoke screens trying to take you off course.  Stay on track.  Keep your eyes looking straight before you and press in.  Keep walking by faith and do not look back.  Stand strong and know that He is going to show your enemies that He is God.
