Have you ever stopped to think about what’s coming out of your mouth? I don’t mean your morning coffee breath—I mean your words. So often, we pray for one thing but then turn around and speak the opposite. We ask God to bless our finances, but then we say, “I’m always broke.” We pray for healing and then tell everyone how sick and tired we are. That’s like planting good seed in the ground and then digging it right back up.

The Bible says in Mark 11:23–24, “Whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.” Jesus didn’t say we’d have what we prayHe said we’d have what we say. That means our words are powerful. They carry the ability to shape our reality and direct our future.

Proverbs 18:21 reminds us, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue.” Think about that. Every time we speak, we’re either speaking life or death—faith or fear—hope or doubt. Our words can bring healing to our homes, peace to our minds, and restoration to our relationships… or they can tear all of that down.

James 3:5 says the tongue is small but can set a whole forest on fire. It’s like the rudder on a ship—it determines which direction your life will go. If you want your life to move toward God’s promises, you’ve got to steer it with your words.

I love what Terri Savelle Foy says—after you speak something, add, “And that’s just the way I want it.” It’ll make you stop and think about what’s coming out of your mouth! If it’s not something you want to see happen, don’t say it.

So today, let’s do a little self-check. Is there a thief in your mouth—stealing your peace, your joy, or your blessings through careless words? It’s time to take back your power. Speak life, speak faith, and speak victory. Because when your words line up with God’s Word, mountains move, miracles happen, and His promises come alive in your life.

Declaration:
Lord, help me to guard my mouth and fill it with words of life. Let my speech reflect faith, not fear—hope, not doubt. I choose to speak Your promises over my life, and that’s just the way I want it.

Keep speaking life!
