One of the most powerful tools you have in your possession is the ability to surrender everything over to the Lord. Surrender means to yield to the power, control, or possession of another: to give up completely or agree to forgo especially in favor of another: to give (oneself) up into the power of another.
You may say, well that doesn’t sound like it’s very powerful? It is when you are surrendering to the King of Kings, and the Lord of Lords. When you completely and fully submit to God and TRUST Him, everything changes. His ways are higher than your ways, (Isaiah 55:8),and his power is limitless! He knows the end from the beginning, and desires to take you places you have never even dreamed of.
To surrender you must take everything to Him. Your plans, your future, your burdens, worries, concerns, disappointments and even the things you are grateful for. Bring everything to Him and TRUST HIM with it. When you hire someone to do some maintenance on your home, do you take his tools from him and begin to do it yourself when he shows up to do the job? No. You trust the person you hired to do the job. It is the same when we surrender. When you hand it over and trust God with it, you are free. Free of the doubt, free of the fears, oppression and weight of it all. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
When you turn things over to him, He will direct you and show you the way to go. He will never fail you. If you continue to carry the weight yourself and try to make things happen your own way, you will miss out on the Father revealing His power. You are limited and only see in a mirror dimly. God, your creator made you and formed you for HIs purpose and plan. Each and every morning, begin to surrender all to the Lord. Lay everything at His feet, and follow Him. His mercy, love, power, peace, freedom and life are waiting for you.
