Jesus said, “Who touched Me?” While they all were denying it, Peter [and those who were with him] said, “Master, the people are crowding and pushing against You!” But Jesus said, “Someone did touch Me, because I was aware that power [to heal] had gone out of Me.” ~Luke 8:45-46
“Who touched Me?” Jesus asked.
Peter was quick to point out the obvious: “Master, everyone is crowding and pressing against You!” But Jesus knew this wasn’t just an accidental brush in a huge crowd. He recognized something different. He felt power leave Him. Someone’s faith had drawn healing from His very being.
The woman with the issue of blood didn’t just hope to get a glimpse of Jesus or casually pass by Him. She wasn’t just “out for a chance encounter.” No, she was on a mission—a faith mission. She had made up her mind: she was going to touch Him, and get her blessing, no matter what it took. And when she did, that deliberate act of faith drew the power of God right out of Him.
Let me ask you this: if you’ve been saying, “I’m waiting on God,” could it be that God is waiting on you? Think about that woman for a moment. She was probably in agony, physically and emotionally drained after years of suffering. But she didn’t let the pain, the crowd, or even her doubts stop her. She pressed through. She may have even ruffled some feathers as she pushed her way to Jesus, but she didn’t care—she was focused on one thing: touching Him and receiving what she knew He could give.
Are you pressing in? Are you reaching out with the same determination and faith? Or have you let the distractions, the doubts, and the endless to-do lists crowd out your time with Him? Is prayer at the bottom of your list, or have you made it a priority to meet with God every day?
God is ready. He’s waiting for you to step out in faith and believe Him for your victory. Whether it’s healing, forgiveness, deliverance, or provision—whatever you need—it’s already made available to you. All you have to do is reach out and take it.
So today, don’t hold back. Press in. Push through the noise, the doubts, the fear, and touch Him. His power is ready to meet your faith.
