“Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health,
even as thy soul prospereth.” ~3 John 2
If you want to win, have success and go forward, you are going to have to learn to fight for it! Winning is a state of mind and an attitude. God wants you to prosper in everything you do.
The word prosper in 3 John 2 means to “succeed in reaching”. What is your vision? What are you desiring to reach in your business, in your relationships, your finances, and/or your health? Your vision and dream coming to life is dependent upon your soul prospering. Please note that your soul here is not your spirit. It is your attitude, emotions, feelings and thoughts. The Greek word for “soul” is psuchē, and it has a large number of meanings, including the physical life of a person or animal; an individual person; and attitudes, emotions, feelings, and thoughts
Your prosperity begins with your attitude and your state of mind. You have to make a decision to keep your soul prospering. Tearing down strongholds of unbelief, doubt, fear. Not allowing your emotions or feelings to dictate what type of day you are going to have. In 1 Samuel 30, David was distressed. The Amalekites had just burned up Ziklag and had taken all the women captive and the men wanted to kill David. I am sure David did not feel very victorious at that moment, but the scripture says that he encouraged himself in the Lord. He did not sit around feeling sorry for himself. In order to win, you are going to have to keep yourself up. No one else is going to do it for you. It takes determination and hard work. You can’t let obstacles get in your way and you can not allow your emotions to take you down.
How hard did you fight yesterday to keep the victory? How hard did you battle to keep a good attitude? How hard did you resist those bad thoughts and feelings? If you allow yourself to walk around in misery, unbelief, and fear, that will be your future. You must defeat those emotions now. You must tear down the negative thoughts today. As your soul, mind, and emotions prosper, so will you have success in your life. Everything you do should be directed towards keeping your soul prospering. Don’t allow the enemy to steal one day. Fight the good fight. Keep pressing forward and “Rejoice in the Lord always, and again I say Rejoice!” ~Philippians 4:4
