Remember when you made the decision to become a Christian?  You took a step of faith and invited Christ into your heart and made Him the Lord of your life.  You were ready to follow Him anywhere, and life was good.  Are you fully surrendered today?  Or have you taken back the reins of your life?  Are you doing your own thing, your own way?  Letting unbelief, doubt and fear hold you back?  Questioning God’s ways and finding yourself further and further from His perfect will?  I think as believers, we all fall into this from time to time, not even aware that we are just going about doing our own thing.

It is kind of like when you are going into the city, and you decide to take the country road instead of the highway, but you lose the wifi signal and without your GPS working, you find yourself going around in circles.  Sure, you will probably finally get to the city, but you could have been there a whole lot faster with the highway.

I absolutely love the scripture in Jeremiah 29:11-14 (Msg) where God says, “I know what I’m doing.  I have it all planned out-plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for.  When you call on me, when you come and pray to me, I’ll listen.  When you come looking for me, you’ll find me.  Yes, when you get serious about finding me and want it more than anything else, I’ll make sure you won’t be disappointed.  God’s Decree.”

God really does know what He is doing!  It may not make sense to you right now, but I assure you that in the end, His Word shall prevail.  If you seek Him with all your heart, and follow Him in faith, without leaning on your own understanding, you will find His perfect plan for your life.  Remember, surrendering to God is not a sign of weakness but is a mark of true faith.  It is an act of strength and humility that allows you to align your will with God’s will.

Surrender all your desires, all your plans to the King of Kings.  Surrender wholeheartedly, trusting that as you follow God faithfully each and every day, you will experience the fullness of His joy, peace, and abundant life.  You will not be disappointed!
