I love when I wake up excited, full of faith and knowing that God is moving on my behalf.  Unfortunately, I have not mastered the ability to wake up that way every day.  Many times I have to praise Him by faith and sometimes even need to put on a “sacrifice” of praise especially on an evil day

Epesians 6, verses 11-13, speaks of putting on the whole armor of God that you may be able to stand in the evil day.  The evil day comes to all of us from time to time and it comes in all sizes, shapes and forms.  In the past, I have always thought of the “evil day” as things coming at me from the outside.  It may be an attack on my finances, my relationships, or things not working out right. However, there is another “evil day” that I would like to share with you.  Unlike the evil that comes at us, this evil can come when you are being fought from within.  The Word tells us in 1 Peter 5:8 to, “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about seeking whom he may devour”.  He can do that through our thoughts, lust, pride, jealousies, covetousness, sexual immorality and any other type of sin.  Remember, sin is enjoyable to the flesh, so it may even seem good for a season.  But it brings an evil day.  Sin eventually brings bondage, destruction, loss, and separates us from the presence of God and His supernatural power and blessings.

If you are being tempted with sin or have fallen short of His glory, there is HOPE.  God is the same yesterday, today and forever.  He does not change and neither does His Word.  All you have to do is REPENT.  Repentance means to turn away from.  If you have allowed yourself to be entangled in any form of ungodliness, gossip, complaining, murmuring, lust, greed, etc., turn away from it today.  Say “no”, to the lust of the flesh and the pride of life by faith.  (“Today, if you hear his voice, harden not your heart.”  Hebrews 3:15)

The enemy may be telling you, “you’re never going to change”, “it’s too late”, or “what’s the use, you’re too deep into this thing”.  He is a liar and the father of lies.  Satan is a thief and he wants to keep you in that bondage and keep you from the promises of God.  Remember, you are not fighting flesh and blood, you are in a spiritual battle.  Satan will try to do anything he can including using your flesh to take you away from the power and the blessings of God. I have good news for you. You don’t have to stay in bondage to him!  All you need to do is make a decision to turn away.  Make a decision to repent.  Make a decision to confess your sin, to receive the blood of Jesus over that sin and trust Him to restore you. He will give you the power to overcome!  It is by the blood of the lamb, and by the word of your testimony that you will overcome the enemy and every wicked plan of his!  (Revelations 12:11)

You’ve got this!  You are victorious through Christ.  To win the battle you must be grounded in faith and trust in the WORD OF GOD.

“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.  Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all to stand, Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness: (it is by HIS blood that you are made righteous!)  And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; ABOVE ALL, taking the shield of faith, (USE THE SHIELD OF FAITH TO SAY NO TO THE DEVIL AND HIS LIES), wherewith you SHALL be able to quench (DESTROY) ALL the fiery darts of the wicked.  (Reference – Ephesians 6:12-16)

Today is your day to be set free!  Give your burden and your sin over to the Lord right now in prayer.  Father, I have fallen short of your glory.  Please forgive me, cleanse me and make me whole again.  I ask you to give me the power to stand.  The power to stand in victory.  Give me the strength to overcome in every area of my life.  I invite you, Holy Spirit, to come in, fill me, restore me and help me.  I thank you Lord for your blood and I receive your forgiveness.  I receive your grace and your mercy and I thank you for setting me free, in Jesus name.  Amen!  So be it!
